May we be blunt for a moment about what exercise is for? We are not walking behind plows every day, nor are we really walking anywhere. We no longer hike through the forest to hunt for food, we instead are enjoying Dominos and watching Woody Harrelson hunt Zombies from the comfort of our couches. We do not chop wood, because the city pumps fuel right into our homes for us. We no longer ride horses; we ride Honda Civics. And this is all very normal, with no need for condemnation—but we need exercise, see?
And isn’t it nice that we can use our bodies as machines again? And it can be fun and healthy? And there is a great trainer that will be there, by the name of TJ McNiff, who will make sure you’re doing it properly.
TJ teaches TRX, which is suspension training using your own body weight for resistance. Participants will enjoy increased strength, improved power and speed, and improved balance and flexibility. TRX incorporates dynamic stretching, enables you to stimulate multiple muscle groups simultaneously and will give you the ability to increase difficulty as you progress.
TRX is great for athletes looking to improve power and speed, anyone interested in improving flexibility, anyone targeting serious core work, anyone looking to increase lean muscle mass, or anyone who misses the good old days of walking 10 miles to school and back, uphill both ways.
